Hunwick CC played in the Coxhoe League until 1962 when the club folded. It was re-formed in 1975, a season when they played only friendlies. The re-birth of the club was commemorated by the adoption of the phoenix from the flames logo as the club badge.

In 1976 the club joined the Mid-Durham Senior League where they played until the league itself disbanded and the club joined the North East Durham League. At present the club runs first and second teams who play in the first and third divisions.
